On the morning of October 27th, the inaugural ceremony of the School of Artificial Intelligence at Nanchang University was held.

Nanchang University President Chen Yeguang stated that artificial intelligence is not only a technological transformation, but also an educational and paradigm shift within the discipline. The formal establishment of the School of Artificial Intelligence is a strategic choice for the university to face the future, deepen educational reform, reconstruct the disciplinary ecosystem, reshape the talent training system, and serve national strategies and regional development needs. It marks a solid and crucial step for Nanchang University in embracing the intelligent era and building a "Digital Nanchang University."

Ma Shuai, Academic Vice President of Nanchang University, stated that the university will adhere to the principle of "reaching for the sky while remaining grounded in reality," conducting cutting-edge research to serve national strategies and regional development; focusing on "small but excellent" development to explore distinctive development paths; and strengthening its talent base to create a dedicated and proactive development ecosystem.

The conference also introduced the "Fengyu Big Model," spearheaded by the China Meteorological Administration, supported by Huawei's domestic Ascend intelligent computing platform, and with core algorithm development provided by Nanchang University; the "Metallographic Big Model," focusing on intelligent materials science; and the "Ecological Economics Educational Intelligence System," highlighting the university's forward-looking planning and innovative capabilities in basic research and interdisciplinary applications of artificial intelligence.

Following the inaugural conference, the annual meeting of the Strategic Advisory Committee for Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence was held. Nearly 30 committee members engaged in in-depth discussions on the construction concepts and development paths of artificial intelligence and interdisciplinary fields, outlining a blueprint for the future development of the college.

A signing ceremony for internship and practice bases was also held on-site. Nanchang University reached cooperation intentions with leading companies such as Alibaba Cloud and Inspur, further deepening university-enterprise collaboration and solidifying the foundation for industry-education integration.

Looking to the future, the School of Artificial Intelligence at Nanchang University will be based in Jiangxi, serve the central region, and radiate across the country, focusing on two major directions: "core basic theories and architectures of artificial intelligence" and "artificial intelligence + X", and striving to break through the development bottlenecks in the central region in terms of attracting high-end talents and improving original innovation capabilities.
